ARTISTS

Showcasing 143 nationally recognized artists who love Peoria!  Original works of art will include jewelry, painting, ceramics,   photography, digital art, printmaking, mixed media, metal, glass, wood, sculpture, fiber, leather, and wearable fiber.  This year, the Fine Art Fair will have a local spin.  Thirteen juried artists will have special booth signage indicating they are from Peoria's vibrant art community.

Eric Bell and Friends

2017 FEATURED POSTER ARTIST

Local artist Eric E Bell has been selected as this year's poster artist.  Bell is one of few local artists ever selected to be the poster artist in the long history of 150 national exhibitors at the Fine Art Fair.  Bell lives in central Illinois where he is the K-12 art teacher at the Williamsfield Schools in Williamsfield, Illinois.  When he is not teaching, Bell spends his summers in Maine as the Director of Visual and Performing Arts at a residential summer camp.  His extensive work background includes museum educator, art history lecturer and illustrator.

Consumed by creativity at a very young age, Bell is familiar with a majority of the visual arts.  He received his B.A. in 1999 from Bradley University with a double major in studio art (painting) and secondary education, and a double minor in art history and religious studies/philosophy.

"I am a painter at heart, but I also love illustration," said Bell.  "When I was approached by the Peoria Art Guild to be poster artist, illustration seemed like a natural choice, as that medium allows me to best portray the enthusiasm of the fair and the people who make it happen."

Bell's whimsical poster image, "Art for All", will be displayed on all promotional materials and will be exhibited along with his other paintings and illustrations at the Fine Art Fair, Booth 151.

 COMMUNITY MURAL

Booth 29

If you think the kids are the only ones having fun, the interactive Community Mural is designed for adults.
It takes hundreds of people to participate in this fun, hands-on activity — and everyone attending the Fair can watch as the mural literally comes together tile-by-tile over this two-day event.  It's free, it's fun and it's Peoria's nod to our local and extremely talented poster artist Eric E. Bell. Free.

JACOB GRANT'S POTTERY EXPERIENCE

Well-known Peoria artist, Jacob Grant, will provide an on-site pottery making experience for a small fee.  Participants can choose to spend a half hour or an hour making their own personal piece of pottery.  Grant's 24' white trailer will be located under the McCluggage Bridge and will be open during the hours of the fair.

KIDS ART FESTIVAL

Admission $5

The Kids Art Festival will be loaded with activities and art projects.  There will be seven different stations with beginner and intermediate level projects at each station.  This year's focus will be on the different types of art including: Sculpture (building with craft sticks), Fiber and Design (CD weaving and T-shirt painting), Printmaking (mono and string printing), Drawing (still life and self-portraits), Painting (using tempera and acrylics to paint different types of fish), Art History (upside-down drawing and painting with watercolor pencils in the manner of old Masters; projects will include take-home information on each artist) and of course, the ever popular Face Painting.  Come visit us at the Kids Art Festival!!

MUSIC

On entering the fair, you can enjoy musical selections piped throughout our scenic riverfront as a backdrop to your viewing and purchasing of the art on display.
