Prairie grass grew from flesh and the dirt sprouts fur.
Many mouths were opened they ate the corn
Growing off their backs. Rodents scrambled to hoard.
Bones will decay in the ground.
Termites will bore through rotten wood.
Many animals will lay together fight each other
And protect each other.
With their legs planted firmly in the ground
Their roots will run deep until they create many planets."

All exhibits feature local artists in the Fleming Conference Room at the
Foster Art Center.

December - January: Amanda Gerwig
“These recent works explore points where land, sky and water meet. Such fragile junctions teem with life, yet are increasingly threatened by escalating development and extraction of resources. As the natural world continues to be subdivided, paved over, rerouted and subdued, I am drawn more than ever to places untouched, thus far, by the bulldozer."

February - March: Peg Toliver

April: Todd Snyder
Since the late 1980's my work has involved the creation of paintings and drawings pertaining to a kind of "Industrial Surrealism" in which urban images, with and without figures, are synthesized from a combination of imagination and reality, sometimes directly drawn on location, derived from slides, prints and digital photos or a mix thereof. My art is technically well-crafted, using traditional realist techniques that fuse into my own "Magic Realism" when completed. Works in the same vein are also in development with looser more expressionist brush strokes, bolder color and distortion. My intention is to create an atmosphere of ambiguity and tension through the use of broken narrative, leaving the viewer with an unresolved outcome, which mirrors our increasingly complicated and surreal world.

June - July: Barb Hoffman

August - September: Tom Gross

October-November: Joe Couri

He states "I have been blesses to be able to travel and experience so many wonderful and diverse examples of God's creation on this earth. It never ceases to amaze me the endless opportunities we have in our country to experience the beauty of nature."
