2023 Peoria Art Guild Fine Art Fair brings a $324,553 Economic Impact to Peoria

After months of planning, Peoria was blessed with another weekend filled with sunshine and thousands of patrons who attended the September 2023 Fine Art Fair. An estimated 8,500 patrons visited the riverfront that weekend and 40% of them traveled over 25 miles to attend. Several visitors from other states were in attendance. “Everything about the 2023 Fine Art Fair was a success. The weather was perfect. The artists were happy and most importantly our community supported the event by attending and purchasing art. “said Shannon Cox, Executive Director of the Peoria Art Guild. Peoria is known for taking care of its artists and it’s the Art Guild’s priority to uphold that reputation.

In 2032 the Peoria Art Guild Fine Art Fair was rated #41 in the top 200 Fine Art Fairs in the nation by Sunshine Artist Magazine. The Fair welcomed several new artists that had never been to Peoria and the impression was a good one. Artist feedback indicated that they thought Peoria was a beautiful, friendly, and accommodating community and they can’t wait to visit again. The Economic Impact of the Fine Art Fair was $324,553* in 2023 according to calculations by the Peoria Conventions and Visitors Bureau. It is estimated that there were an estimated 1,250 overnight stays in Peoria and the average meal purchases in our community over the weekend were $52,875. The average shopping in the community was estimated at $41,791 with recreation purchases at $34,015. The estimated local taxes generated were $25,095. Soon the Art Guild will be installing the 2023 Community Mural to replace the 2022 mural on the 400 block of SW Washington Street. The Peoria Art Guild is thrilled to be able to offer this event to the community and make such a significant economic impact on our local economy.
