2 Class Series-Basic Digital Image Management and Editing using Adobe Lightroom Classic taught by Craig Stocks

  • Peoria Art Guild 203 Harrison St Peoria Il 61602 United States (map)

Digital photography has created many new possibilities, but many of us struggle to efficiently manage all of our digital image files and make basic edits. Fortunately, there are a few very powerful, affordable and easy to use programs from Adobe that can help us accomplish these tasks.

This class includes two sessions taught by talented local photographer Craig Stocks. The first session provides an introduction to Lightroom where we’ll go over important settings and basic tasks to organize your photos. The second session covers the Develop Module where you edit and optimize your photos. You don’t need any previous experience with photo editing but should be familiar with basic computer operation.

This class is designed to show you how to:

 * Easily copy you digital images to your computer.

 * Store images in a master catalog that makes it easy to find your images.

 * Re-size images to an appropriate size for email, social media or printing.

 * Do basic editing, such as cropping, brightness and color adjustments and red-eye corrections.

 * Create a foundation for future growth, including the ability to seamlessly integrate with Photoshop.

The class is built around Adobe's Lightroom program (officially known as "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom"). Lightroom has quickly become the de-facto industry standard for image management and basic editing among pros and amateurs alike.

Lightroom can be downloaded from adobe.com as a 30 day free trial. Instead of purchasing the program you subscribe through Adobe. The current rate is around $10 per month for the Photography Bundle and includes both Lightroom (either version) plus the full version of Photoshop. The subscription model allows you to always have the latest versions of the software without ever paying upgrade fees. The subscription doesn’t have any affect on your photos, it simply activates the editing features in the programs.

Lightroom works well as a standalone program, but can also partner with either Photoshop or Photoshop Elements (available for around $79) for more advanced photo editing, such as creating composites or adding text).

SPACE IS LIMITED TO 6 - Class cost for both sessions- $100 - Register HERE - Peoria Art Guild Members use code PAGMEMBER to receive $5 off this series. The second Class is held on Saturday April 13,2019 from 10-12:30
