When we were kids we created things, made things, with no limits to our creativity or passion for art. The grown ups in our lives encouraged this, hung up our works like they belonged in museums, coaxed us to create more and claim our title of artist. As we get older we stop thinking of ourselves as artists. We lose sight of that creativity, it becomes stifled under the other demands for our time. We forget the rush of creating art without inhibition and although we might have an opportunity to enjoy looking at art the sentence “oh I could never do anything like that” becomes a part of our regular vocabulary.

At the Art Guild we change that by bringing art to the community and the community to art. Our members and our donors are from all walks of life from art enthusiasts to professional artists their memberships and donations support our ability to offer opportunities to cultivate creativity in aspiring artists while supporting the work of professional artists through art education and exhibitions.
