Students will use a mortar and pestle to grind the pigment, and a muller to bind the pigment. Afterwards, we will learn a handful of watercolor techniques, and create handmade cards.

For ages 6-11, in this one-day workshop students will use a collection of stamps and printmaking blocks to decorate their own canvas tote bag! 

Learn basic structures for making notebooks, journals, and photo albums. The three structures covered will be pamphlet binding, accordion binding, and single-section case binding.

This workshop aims to weave together the meaningful moments and spaces we experience as inhabitants of Peoria. The streets, parks, and homes bring back memories that impact our daily lives. Through threads, we will represent what makes us part of the city

Students will learn the fundamentals of working at the wheel, including centering clay, pulling walls, and shaping basic forms like bowls and cups. No prior experience is necessary, just a willingness to get messy.

Students will see examples of various works from different artists, experiment with carving and inking a block, and create an edition of their own prints. They will also have the chance to use an etching press and work in a print studio.

In this class, you will learn the printmaking process of reduction linocut. We will go over the basics of relief carving, such as using relief gouges and mixing ink. The reduction method is a relief printmaking technique for making multi-color prints that have several layers.

Students are given the space to experiment with found objects and texture while learning essential clay sculpture techniques.
