Memory Album or Journal with Japanese Stab Binding
Instructor: Peggy West
Department: Other
The foundational Japanese version of stab binding is called Yotsume Toji, which roughly translates to “four holes.” It is a simple, yet elegant, way to bind together flat pages and covers with exposed decorative stitching. In this workshop, participants will fold, assemble, and stab bind a soft-cover memory album or journal from high quality stock and decorative papers. Methods for mounting photos and ephemera into the journal will also be explored. No prior experience necessary.
