Goose Egg Pysanky

Learn the ancient Ukrainian art of pysanky - batik on eggshell. In this class we will design and create a pysanky using a goose egg. Students will learn to use a lathe and templates to divide the egg. We will also cover wax application techniques using both electric and candle heated kistka. The result will be a beautiful pysanka to display for years to come.

We are committed to the health and safety of students, instructors and patrons, Our organization will be following recommended guidelines from the Illinois Department of Public Health: Anyone exhibiting symptoms will not be permitted in the building. Class sizes will be limited and workstations set up to allow 6 ft social distance between students and instructors. Masks are recommended for everyone when social distancing is not possible. Each classroom will contain hand sanitizer and sanitizing stations.
All classes are subject to cancellation due to low enrollment. Students will be notified of class cancellation by 2 pm the day before class. Students can either retain a credit toward a future class or receive a full refund in 3-5 business days.
