Fri for 3 weeks from 5:30 - 7:30 pm
Students will look closely at the work of Louise Nevelson, known for her abstract sculptures made from cast-off pieces of wood — actual street “throwaways” — uniformly coated with black or white spray paint. Students will create their own assemblages from wood pieces and other cast-off objects on a panel.
Nevelson is credited with saying, “I think all great innovations are built on rejections.”
Ages 8-14
Art Without Boundaries Eligible
All materials are supplied by the Peoria Art Guild, but students are encouraged to bring their own "found objects" to personalize their sculptures.
